1. Who we are
Acquisitionist (“Acquisitionist”, “we”, “us”) is an AI marketing agency operating at acquisitionist.world. We provide advertising, content, search, automation, appointment-setting and analytics services, delivered through a coordinated system of AI agents supervised by human strategists (the “Acquisition Engine”).
This policy covers two roles we play: as a controller of data about visitors, leads and our own clients; and as a processor (or service provider) of data we handle on behalf of clients, such as their customers' and leads' information. When we act as a processor, the client's own privacy notice and our data processing agreement with them govern that data.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details: name, email, phone number, business name and website, submitted through forms, booking tools, newsletter sign-ups or email.
- Qualification details: revenue range, goals, plan interest and other answers you choose to share.
- Call content: notes and, with your consent where required, recordings and transcripts of sales and strategy calls.
- Client materials: brand assets, customer lists, CRM exports, ad account access, and images, voice or video you provide for content or AI avatar production.
- Billing information, handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser, pages viewed, referring URL, UTM parameters and approximate location.
- Cookies, pixels and similar technologies, including analytics and advertising pixels (for example Google and Meta). See our Cookie Policy.
- Message and interaction data: replies to our SMS, email, chat or DM conversations, including those handled by our AI assistants.
Information from third parties
- Ad platforms, analytics and CRM tools connected by clients; lead-form data from platforms like Meta and Google; and publicly available business information used for outbound prospecting.
3. How we use information
- To respond to enquiries, schedule calls and send information you requested.
- To deliver client services: plan and run campaigns, produce content, qualify and follow up with leads, book appointments and report results.
- To operate our AI agents, which draft messages, score leads, generate creative and analyse performance under human-defined rules and review.
- To send our newsletter and marketing communications, where you opted in or where the law otherwise allows. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To measure and improve our website, services and agents, using aggregated or de-identified data where possible.
- To secure our systems, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations.
We are based in Sydney, Australia, and handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of a contract, legitimate interests (running and improving our business, B2B marketing), consent (certain cookies, SMS marketing, call recording where required) and legal obligation.
4. AI processing
Some information is processed by AI models provided by third-party vendors (such as large language model, speech and video providers) acting as our sub-processors. We:
- Use enterprise or API terms under which vendors do not train their models on our or our clients' data.
- Send only the data needed for the task and avoid sending sensitive categories of data.
- Keep a human in the loop for anything published or sent on a client's behalf at scale, and for decisions with significant effects.
- Do not use AI to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on individuals without human review.
Read more in our AI & Automation Disclosure.
5. SMS, calls and email
If you provide your phone number and consent, we (or our AI assistant) may contact you by call or text about your enquiry, including with automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. We do not sell or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties for their marketing purposes. Every commercial message we send identifies us and includes a working unsubscribe, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
6. How we share information
- Service providers: hosting, CRM, scheduling, email and SMS delivery, payments, analytics and AI model providers, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
- Advertising platforms: hashed or pseudonymous data for measurement and audience building, where permitted and in line with your cookie choices.
- Clients: when we process leads on a client's behalf, those leads' details go to that client.
- Legal and safety: where required by law or to protect rights and safety.
- Business transfers: in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
We do not sell personal information. Where our use of advertising pixels counts as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law, you can opt out using the cookie settings or by emailing us.
7. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above: typically for the length of a client relationship plus up to 3 years for records and disputes, 24 months for unconverted leads, and until you unsubscribe for newsletter data. Client-owned data is returned or deleted at the end of the engagement per our agreement.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data; to object to or restrict processing; to withdraw consent; and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale or sharing. California, Colorado, Virginia and other US state residents, and people in the EU/UK, can exercise these rights by emailing us. We will verify your request and respond within the legal timeframe, and we won't discriminate against you for using your rights. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or your local data protection authority.
9. International transfers
Our vendors (for example AI model, hosting and CRM providers) may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Security
We use access controls, encryption in transit, least-privilege access to client accounts, and vendor due diligence. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected people and authorities of breaches as the law requires.
11. Children
Our services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
12. Changes
We will post updates here and change the date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the site or sent to clients by email.
